After being in the daycare business for over 25 years, I have decided to start supplying the formula for my daycare children. Costco is under “Kirkland brand” and Sam’s Club is under “Members Mark”.
Information that I have found is that Members Mark is a little bit harder to mix up. Kirkland and Members Mark are basically the same ingredients as Similac or Infamil. They both are government approved.
Cost wise Costco formula is about .35 cents an ounce and Sam’s Club was about .45 cents an ounce. On the Costco website it has great reviews so I think I will try the Costco Brand.
For a free sample of Members mark Formula: www.membersmarkformula.com/free_sample.aspx
I also came across a free sample from Wal Mart’s parents choice formula: www.parentschoiceformula.com/sample-milk-baby-formula.aspx
Does anyone have any opinions on using any of these formulas?
Costco has a formula comparison chart here:

How to make Leftover BBQ Chicken Salad using leftovers from the night before.
One of the biggest expenses for a household is eating out with the family. If done on a regular basis (say 1-2 times a week) you can spend upwards of $100 a week. This is money that can be easily saved by eating out on rare or special occasions and making more meals at home. This approach can be taken even a step further with the use of leftovers from the night before. Today’s frugal food tip comes with the aid of some leftover BBQ chicken from the night before.
Leftover BBQ Chicken Salad Recipe

Delicious Leftover BBQ Chicken Salad
Ingredients used:
3 Tomatoes
1 Head of organic romaine lettuce (rinsed)
3 Hard boiled eggs sliced
1 Small bunch of arugula
1 Carrot julienned
1 Zucchini sliced
Prepare all of the ingredients as you would normally with any other salad. Slice and dice the veggies to your hearts content and finish it off with the shredded BBQ chicken on top. You can either mix the dressing into the salad before hand, or drizzle some on top of the salad, either way it’s delicious. This recipe will serve about four and makes a great healthy alternative to eating out and costs a lot less! Feel free to share any recipes you may have using leftovers the night before by leaving a comment.

Save $35 a month with DIY Organic Pest Control
A couple of days ago I called my pest control company to find out how much it would cost to switch from our current “non-organic” plan to an organic one. Right now I am paying $35.00 a month and was told it would cost $75.00 a month to go organic. After asking “Why the price increase?” I was informed that it costs more for them to use a special clove and peppermint oil mixture. After the phone call, I decided to do some research on my own and found that there is a product called Sharp Shooter Natural Insect Spray that uses these exact same ingredients. Here is a quick explanation from their site.
SharpShooter is made of natural plant oils that kill insects on contact. You can even spray up to the day of harvest. Our handy ready-to-use formula can be used indoor and outdoor. For larger jobs, buy one of our sprayers and a gallon of concentrate to make your own and get the product higher into the trees and shrubs. One gallon makes up to 28 gallons of mixed product. It’s a great deal!
After finding this product I realized it was time to cancel my pest control service, and do it myself for only $19.99. I figure this bottle will last me about 14 months which is a HUGE amount of savings compared to the $35.00 a month I was spending in the past.
Once again, I’ve just purchased this, so in the near future i’ll be letting everyone know how it works out. But so far it sounds like it can finally save me from the biggest pest of them all, a monthly bill for pest control!
